2 beamguns

Postby Tomas Gustafsson on Wed Feb 25, 2015 3:08 pm

I guess this may have to do with fi.din (sep 2, 2014) or sumthing. But the good beam key is not to be found on my keyboard. I copied the functional one from the APL Help, the non-functional comes with the key below Esc. As having no previous I-beam experience, i guess my mouth was open for some extra moments while experiencing the SYNTAX ERROR :-).

Not a big issue though.

Hi Tomas,

In fi.din, the non-functional I-beam that you see should actually display as § (the paragraph character).

You need to Ctrl+Alt+(that key in question) to get the working I-beam.

Using that key, with different shift states:

§⍬⋄⍪⌶ ⍝ shift states (1 shift, 2 ctrl, 6 is ctrl + alt) 0 1 2 3 6

This post is in the APL385 Unicode font. In the classic "Dyalog Symbol" fonts, the § displays as the non-functional I-beam. If you temporarily change your font to "Dyalog Box", you'd see the paragraph character.

Regards,

Vince

ctrl + alt + resolute right handed tap on the paragraph key produces beautiful ⌶-beams, excellent! Thx! :-)
