GUI Emulation for APL+Win V2

How to move APL code to Dyalog

GUI Emulation for APL+Win V2

Postby JoHo on Sat Dec 26, 2009 2:35 pm

Hi,

There is a GUI Emulation running within DyalogAPL v12 Unicode,
which was developed to get an application migrated from APL+Win V2.
It comprises about 90% of the quadWI mechanism, graphics commands are complete.

But, for example Tree or Grid objects are not implemented yet.
Currently system functions are not implemented, except the
file handling functions.

A free demo application using this emulation can be downloaded from
http://www.condim.at/Download.aspx

Any further questions and suggestions are very welcome.

Cheers,
JoHo

Is this something you are looking to sell, or provide as a starting point for others?
Do you have a description written in English?
Do you really mean APL+Win version 2? That is very old. Current version is 19.

Hello Rex,

this is more a consultancy backed product,
rather than a ready-to-use / installable / feature complete package.

And yes, it was APL+Win v2 then, and still is now.
Further development of this GUI emulation will be happening on demand,
backed by actual projects and their specific requirements.

I don't think, there would be recently developed APL+Win v19 GUI applications,
which would need emulation in Dyalog APL/W. One would directly do it with Dyalog in the first place.

Cheers,
