Why can't I see Root Methods such as #.DateToIDN?
To see Root properties, methods, or events such as DateToIdn, the PropertyExposeRoot parameter must be set by choosing Options/Object Syntax/Expose Root Properties.
This parameter has workspace scope. You can set the default value of this parameter in a clear workspace in the Options/Configure dialog box.
Dyalog version 14.0 introduced an i-beam to set PropertyExposeRoot under program control:

(updated 28 Aug 2015 to add information about the i-beam introduced in 14.0)
