Dyalog ’11 Conference - Videos now available

This isn't the first time this has been announced but I thought I'd give it another try. About the fourth I should say. We end up at: http://video.dyalog.com/Dyalog11/ that doesn't look vastly different from http://video.dyalog.com/Dyalog09/ except that the latter works, actually allowing you to watch them, while the former tells me to install Silverlight that's been installed on my machine for a couple of years and is reinstalled every time I attempt to view the Dyalog'11 videos. Unfortunately reinstalling it has no more effect than the fact that it's already there and waiting.

Hi Phil,
I just tried the site for Dyalog '11 Conference videos
and it worked fine; did not run me through a Silverlight update;
watched a video without difficult.
This was on Windows 8. I will try Windows 7 next chance I get.
The Windows 8 has been given a whole bunch of application/technology
updates in its short run as a double boot with Windows 7 on my machine.
So it either came with or shortly after got a goodenough form of Silverlight.

I suspect your machine's operating system has picked up some "dirt" in the registry
with regard to Silverlight and its current version; posited "dirt" not being removed
by a nice install of the latest and greatest Silverlight.

A possible cure might be to use Control Panel -> Programs and Features
and examine what Silverlight versions are there
then remove them all
then reboot
then install the latest (or the level shown by video url)

Perhaps I should have mentioned that I'm using XP but must reiterate that Silverlight works fine for everything else and the Dyalog'09 vidoes are also fine.

Could it be that it's looking in the wrong place when it comes to XP. I'm fairly sure MS moved a lot of stuff around between XP and Vista.
